Day Thirty-Four: Explore Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park Kennesaw, GA
A 2,923 acre National Battlefield, Kennesaw Mountain is the site of some of the heaviest fighting of the Atlanta Campaign of the Civil War. The Mountain offers the history buff, hiker, outdoors-lover, pets, families, and anyone who loves nature a beautiful scenic setting, whether you picnic in the fields, hike the 700 foot incline from the visitor’s center to the top of the mountain summit, or walk the 17.3 miles of trails. There are self-guided cell phone tours, brochures, and many scheduled events such as wildflower walks and special exhibits. So put on your walking shoes, bring the dog, and let’s go to the Mountain!
