Day Ninety: Christmas Events Around Atlanta

The Pink Pig – The Pink Pig has been a popular Atlanta Christmas attraction since it first spun around the top of Rich’s downtown store in 1953. Today grandmothers and grandfathers who rode the original pig as a child return to Lenox Mall during Christmas to keep the tradition alive.

A unique Atlanta tradition, children love to take a ride on the Pink Pig which returns to Lenox Mall each holiday season. Open daily throughout November and December, a ride is only $3 and is a great break for well behaved kids after a day of holiday shopping at the mall.

Atlanta Ballet Presents The Nutcracker – Each year the Atlanta Ballet brings to life the classic Christmas tale of Clara and the Nutcracker. This is a ballet full of holiday magic that has captivated young and old throughout the ages. It is also a great way to introduce children to the art of dance.

Holiday Tea with Santa at the St. Regis – The St. Regis Atlanta presents Holiday Tea for guests and visitors of all ages. Highlights of the Holiday Tea include Vanilla Panna Cotta with Peppermint Gelée, Shortbread Snowflake Cookies and Double Chocolate Sea Salt Cookies.

2012 Events: Holiday Tea is offered daily November 24th through December 25th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tea with Santa will be offered Thursday through Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5 p.m., November 30th through December 9th and daily, December 13th through 24th. Breakfast with Santa: Saturdays, December 8 and 15, at 9 a.m. Enjoy breakfast, live entertainment, a visit with Santa, and a tour of the decorated holiday home. There will be sing-alongs fun coloring activities and an opportunity to tell the jolly elf your holiday wish in person! Don’t forget to bring a camera for your own photo with Santa. Breakfast provided by Chick-fil-A. Tickets: $20 per person (children and adults)

Teddy Bear Tea: Sundays, December 9 and 16, at 3 p.m. Dress up and bring your very special teddy bear for an elegant family tea. Enjoy the spirit of the holidays in the historic mansion, beautifully decorated for the season. Tea and hot chocolate, sandwiches, pastries, live entertainment and a visit with Santa will highlight a delightful Sunday afternoon for families. A tour of the decorated holiday home is included.
